About

Hi! I'm Hannah Stewart, a second year master's student at Auburn University in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology and I will be graduating in the summer 2022. I am a National Science Foundation Fellow and Climate Resiliency Trainee. I am looking to pursue positions in climate change advocacy or policy and environmental conservation and mitigation.

Much of my passion for the environment started when I was younger going on long hikes and adventures in my home state upstate New York.  Since then I have accumulated two degrees from the University of New Hampshire in 2022. I previously worked in two research labs, the Biology Education Research Group and the Basic and Applied Spatial Analysis lab. I have presented at 3 undergraduate conferences, the Geological Society of America (2021), the Association of Southern Agricultural Scientists (2022), and plan to present at the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education in Greece (2022), and the Agriculture, Food, & Human Values Society (2022). And I plan to publish two papers from my master's thesis Co-Developing Climate-Smart Strategies: Enhancing Resiliency Among Alabama Row Crop Producers and Agricultural Stakeholders .

Collectively, my interdisciplinary academic and research experiences within conservation, fostering stakeholder relationships, and management of the environment and natural resources will allow me to bring unique perspectives and skills to the work I hope to pursue. I have partnered with government agents within SWCC, USDA, and NRCS, I have presented my research at conferences at both national and international settings, and I have experience with synthesizing climate information into engaging material which encourages conservation technology adoption. Though most of my experience is in Climate Science and advocacy I am deeply committed to community development, diversity, and justice. I hope the future opportunities I pursue will allow me to use my experience in research and writing to assist in client partnership and operations. I would be honored to work alongside a company or foundation with robust goals for translating complicated and often daunting based material to stakeholders and representatives who need it most.
